SOLUTION: A surface treatment agent for surface treatment of non-aqueous electricity storage device materials, including cathode materials, anode materials, separators and collectors, consists of a silicon compound which has a specified functional group high in wettability with non-aqueous electrolytes. Available silicon compounds include those of formula (1): R1(OCH2CH2)kOCONH-X1-Si(CH3)m(OR2)3-m, where R1 is a 1-20C alkyl group; R2 is a 1-4C alkyl group; X1 is a 1-5C alkylene group; k is an integer of 1-30; and m is 0 or 1.
